Today, Friday July 31st 2009 I watched the Great Recession from my window. At about 1230 PM two police cars arrived. In the building across the street they entered and they removed children from their mother because she was being evicted- from what I understand she had not paid the rent- that is what the super said to me.
The cops called the woman's ex husband who had to come to get the kids. In the middle of the street there was allot of screaming and yelling. The police drew their guns. The woman was arrested for hitting one of the cops. The father left with the screaming kids. The last word I heard from the woman's mouth was
"I have been looking for work for seven months"
